Polar Bear ESA Status Vote Postponed

The Fish & Wildlife has put the decision on whether to make polar bears "threatened" under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) off for 1 month. Gee, I wonder if it has anything to do with the oil and gas exploration lease the Bush Administration is selling on Feb. 6th along the Chukchi Sea? BTW, it's the most important land-based habitat that America’s polar bears have left!
Please urge your Senators and Representative to permanently safeguard the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge by designating it as federally protected wilderness. To sign a petition to stop the Arctic Drilling lease sales, click Stop The Drilling Bear hugs, Frankie

Since Governor Palin finally chose a Canadian company to build the gas pipe line (just this last week), I suppose it will be interesting to see what the biologists and scientist decide about the status of our Polar Bears. They are suppose to make a decision whether to place them on the endangered list on Wednesday — oops, I mean next month when it doesn't conflict with Bush Administration's interests.
If they do, then it will be a landmark decision, both objectively and morally. Say some prayers…for the bears…if you cares…
Hugs, David
