Lots of people got really excited about the polar bears being listed as Threatened under the Endangered Species Act (ESA), however, it turns out there are lots of loopholes so that they aren't as protected as they need to be. I am pleased, and understandably surprised, by the decision to place the Polar Bears on the Endangered species list.
However, it occurs to me that my job will not be complete until their existence and their welfare is no longer in danger;
when their endangerment is no longer an issue. So it goes. Hugs, David
