Polar Bear Cartoons Helping Polar Bears

Monday, March 17th, 2008

I know that writing about polar bears has changed me so I’m not surprised that David’s cartoons have changed him. I just hope that together we can made a difference.

Speaking of making a difference, Polar Bears International (PBI) — an organization helping to save polar bears and the most complete source of polar bear information — has welcomed David and I into their family. David’s cartoons and humor will be used by PBI in some special ways. We’ll let you know how, where and when it starts happening.

The income from my Squidoo site, Are You Polar Bear Aware? is split 50/50 between National Wildlife Federation (NWF) and PBI — two of the best organizations around. Bear hugs, Frankie

Polar Bear Meets A Right Whale

Friday, March 14th, 2008

What wonderful creatures, Right Whales. They got their name from whalers who thought they were the “right” whales to hunt because they are easy to catch, have lots of blubber and float when they are killed. Good grief, when will the killing end — when there aren’t any more Right-Whales left? Grim thought, but check out this great cartoon. Bear hugs, Frankie

I am bothered that anybody still hunts and kills whales of any kind. Because some peoples consider it their “ancient rite” to do so baffles me. But, then again, to some people, nothing is sacred. Hugs, David

Polar Bear Leap Year

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

I won’t complaint. Having an extra day means another day to sculpt! Bear hugs, Frankie

I really do wonder why, if they need to add and extra day to the year, would they choose to do it during what is already the seemingly longest month of the year. Maybe they figured we’d be too dazed to notice. Well, they didn’t sneak this one by me! And in four years, i’ll try to remember why this really upsets me…Hugs, David
