A Cartoon Worth A Thousand Words

This cartoon makes a huge statement even without a lot of words, just seeing the bear looking down at the hole in the ice is powerful imagery. A picture, or in this case, a cartoon, IS worth a thousand words.- Frankie

I guess this image was the first one that I felt good about. I liked the way the image said so much with so few words. I was beginning to see and feel the real power of what a cartoon could be. Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough faith in it. I thought I needed to put the dialog beneath the image to get the message across. I apologize to you, dear reader, for underestimating your ability to figure stuff out on your own. Believe me, I meant no insult. Please forgive me.

Keep in mind that I am far from perfect. I forget, every now and then, that I am creating these cartoons for you, the public. Too often, I think I’m trying to get a message to our leaders. And considering the job they are doing and the decisions they are making, I tend to spell everything out as I would to a very small child…and a selfish and bratty one at that. – David
